Close-up of dry skin in warm light

Tired of dry,
tight skin?

Your skin knows what it’s missing. You just haven’t been told what it is yet.

“Every wash strips a little more. Every ‘moisturiser’ gives a little less.”

Water. Fillers. Silicones that sit on top instead of soaking in. Your skin isn’t asking for more product — it’s asking for something real.

Dry, cracked texture representing moisture loss

Kenya

There’s a reason African communities have used this for centuries.

When the mangoes come in around Ukambani and Tharaka, the fruit is only half the story. The kernel inside carries the richness — and that is the part local hands have always kept.

Kernels are gathered and hand-sorted, then cold-pressed. No heat, no bleaching, no fragrance. What comes out is a pale, creamy butter that smells faintly of nothing at all.

One ingredient. Nothing added to make it look or smell like more than it is.

“I bought the organic Mango butter and Rosehip oil early this year, and I am completely obsessed. The mango butter is easily my favourite, it melts into the skin, keeps me hydrated all day, and has completely changed my skin texture over the last few months. Highly recommend EarthyGlow!”

What Is Mango Butter?

Mango butter is a solid, creamy fat extracted from the kernel (seed) inside a mango fruit — not the flesh you eat.

Once the fruit is removed, the kernel is cracked open to reveal a small nut, which is cold-pressed to release its natural butter.

Unlike many commercial moisturisers built mostly from water and synthetic emulsifiers, mango butter is a single ingredient — nothing diluted, nothing added. It’s naturally rich in fatty acids and plant-based antioxidants, giving it a thicker, richer texture than lighter oils like jojoba or argan.

MIZIZI’s Mango Butter is sourced from Kenya, hand-processed using traditional cold-press methods with no heat, bleaching, or added fragrance.

Benefits & Uses

For skin

  • Deeply moisturises dry or rough patches
  • Helps skin retain moisture throughout the day
  • Leaves skin feeling softer and smoother
  • Gentle enough for regular use, unscented

For hair

  • Can be worked through dry ends to add sheen and softness
  • Helps tame frizz and flyaways
  • Suitable as a light leave-in treatment for dry or textured hair

Common uses — body moisturiser, hand and foot cream, hair ends treatment, cuticle care, and as a base ingredient in DIY skincare blends.

How to Use It

For skin

  1. Scoop a small amount (roughly pea-sized) with clean, dry fingers
  2. Warm it between your palms — it will soften from solid to a light oil
  3. Massage into skin using circular motions until absorbed
  4. Best applied after showering, while skin is slightly damp, to help lock in moisture

For hair

  1. Take a small amount and warm between palms
  2. Work through mid-lengths and ends only, avoiding the scalp
  3. Use on damp or dry hair as a light finishing treatment

Patch test recommended before first use — apply a small amount to the inside of your wrist and wait 24 hours.

Mango Butter vs Shea Butter

Mango Shea
Texture Softer, more spreadable at room temp
Absorption Richer, can feel heavier on skin
Scent Naturally nutty aroma (unless refined)
Best for Very dry skin, thicker protective barrier
Comedogenic rating Medium

Both are single-ingredient, cold-pressed natural butters — the right choice often comes down to texture and personal preference rather than one being universally “better.” Many people use both for different purposes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is mango butter good for oily skin?+

Mango butter is on the richer side, so those with oily or acne-prone skin may prefer to patch test first or use it on drier areas only (hands, feet, elbows) rather than the full face.

Can I use mango butter on my face?+

Yes, in small amounts — but because it’s a rich, occlusive butter, it’s best suited to dry areas or as a nighttime treatment rather than an all-over daily face moisturiser for every skin type.

Does mango butter clog pores?+

Mango butter has a medium comedogenic rating, meaning it may be more likely to clog pores than lighter oils like jojoba, particularly for those prone to breakouts.

How long does a 200ml jar last?+

This varies by usage, but with regular daily use on hands, body, or hair ends, most customers find a 200ml jar lasts 2–3 months.
